Back in the Spring of 2019, when Lee Hart of Unbranded Digital first met ActionCOACH White Rose Lead Coach Jenni Morgan, he was stuck in a rut.
His business was just “getting by”, he could only afford to pay himself every three months, and his living situation – renting with his two brothers, was less than ideal Lee was also fulfilling most of the client projects himself and couldn’t see a way to progress the business to the next level, employ more staff and free up his own time. Over the next five years, Lee worked closely with Jenni, first in our GrowthCLUB, where he got used to planning for the next 90 days, with goals increasing each quarter. Then after a year, to our ActionCLUB, which gave him more intensive learning and support to help him meet the challenges in his business. Finally, Lee opted for one-to-one business mentoring. The impact on Lee has been “life-changing.” Turnover has increased by 850%, with profits following the same trend. Something that Lee admits just wouldn’t have happened without Jenni’s support and guidance.
“When you're a young entrepreneur especially, there's so much you don't know ... just having that person to ask and to guide and to teach [is invaluable].” The business hasn’t just seen a financial improvement. A mindset shift has been integral to Lee’s journey too. “I had a huge problem with money when I first started coaching, thinking do I actually deserve money?’’
These thoughts had led to Lee discounting his services, so Jenni worked closely with him to gradually increase day rates. This ensured the profitability of the business and its ability to pay better salaries and benefits packages to staff. And for Lee personally, the growth of the business has enabled him to hit almost all his five-year vision board goals – from the luxury holidays without having to take a work call, owning his dream car, buying a house to getting engaged! But perhaps most importantly, there is a real sense of confidence in his abilities to lead the business.
“I know I've got the skills, I've got the confidence, I've got the experience to back it up, and I believe I should be at that level now.”
That new found confidence helped Lee to achieve the 2024 Young Entrepeneur of the Year at the BizX Awards!
