What Happens When You Finally Step Out of Your Business?

One of the comments that stuck with me from last Friday's GrowthClub came from one of the business owners in the room.

He talked about how he'd spent years being the engine of his business.

Every important decision came through him.

His team were capable, but they were waiting for him. The business had grown, but so had his workload.

Sound familiar?

Over the last few months, he'd made a conscious decision to change.

Instead of trying to do more, he started letting go.

He delegated responsibility, empowered two senior members of his team to take real ownership, and shifted his own focus towards strategy, relationships, developing his people and improving the business itself.

His words?

"It's been transformative."

That conversation summed up exactly why we run GrowthClub every quarter.

Not because business owners need another networking event.

Not because they need another motivational speaker.

But because every business owner needs time to stop working in the business and spend time working on it.

Throughout the day we looked at some of the biggest challenges that growing businesses face.

How do you stop becoming the bottleneck?

How do you move from being the doer to becoming the designer of your business?

How do you build a team that owns outcomes instead of waiting for instructions?

How do you use numbers and dashboards to make better decisions instead of relying on gut feel?

These weren't theoretical conversations.

They were real discussions between business owners who have faced the same challenges and are prepared to share what has worked - and just as importantly, what hasn't.

One of the most valuable parts of the day was our Mastermind session.

Around each table, business owners brought genuine challenges they were wrestling with.

The group questioned, challenged, shared experiences and offered practical ideas that could be implemented immediately.

Sometimes the answer wasn't complicated.

It was simply hearing a different perspective from someone who had already been there.

The feedback at the end of the day reminded us why these sessions matter.

"GrowthClub is a truly important quarterly line in the year to step above the day-to-day, review progress, focus on the right direction and refresh ambition and excitement." Laurence Collings – Warmdwell

"My rate of growth would not be this good without the quarterly planning sessions and GrowthClub." Kate Powell – Kingston Bookkeeping

Every quarter, business owners arrive with questions.

They leave with clarity.

A plan.

Fresh ideas.

New relationships.

And renewed energy to tackle the next 90 days.

Our next GrowthClub takes place on Friday 25th September and if you've never experienced one before, I'd encourage you to come along.

If you're serious about growing your business, sometimes the most valuable thing you can do isn't work another hour.

It's step away from the day-to-day, surround yourself with other ambitious business owners, and spend a day designing what comes next.

If you'd like to find out more or reserve your place for September's GrowthClub, simply get in touch! We'd love to welcome you.
